# What are the media and layout requirements for RCS rich cards?

## Card layout options

- **Card Orientation:** Vertical or Horizontal.
- **Media Height:** Short or Medium.
- **Card Alignment:** Left or Right (the side the image sits on in horizontal cards).

The required image aspect ratio depends on the combination you choose, and the form shows the exact size for your selection. For example, **Vertical + Short** needs a 3:1 image, ideally **1440×480 px**. Use **Edit image** to crop and resize to the right ratio.

## File limits

| Card image | JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF | 2 MB |
| Card video | Video file plus a thumbnail image | 10 MB (thumbnail: JPEG/JPG/PNG, max 100 KB, about 40 KB recommended) |

| Media template file | JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, MP3, MP4, PDF, MPEG | 100 MB |

## Text limits

- Card title: 200 characters
- Card description: 2,000 characters
- Suggestions: up to 4 per rich card
- Carousel: up to 10 cards

**Tip:** smaller, optimised images load faster and look sharper on the recipient's phone.
