# What does INVALID_FORMAT (Invalid Format) mean?

Your message or request was rejected due to **invalid format** - for example the message body, parameters, or data do not match the expected format (encoding, structure, or type). The message was not sent.

**What you can do:** Check the format of your message content and any parameters (e.g. encoding, special characters). Use the correct format required by the API or route.
