# What does SUBMITTED or Pending mean?

**SUBMITTED** (often shown as **Pending**) means your message was **accepted and sent to the operator** but a final delivery result is not yet back. The message is still in the delivery pipeline - it may later become Delivered or Failed when the operator sends a delivery report.

**Where you see it**

- In your **reports**, the “Pending” count is usually messages in this state.
- In your **Delivery Report**, some messages may stay in a pending/accepted state until the operator confirms delivery or failure.

**Why it matters**

- Pending messages are not counted as delivered or failed until the final status is received.
- If many messages stay pending for a long time, delivery reports may be delayed or not received for some routes.
