# Which message types can I send on Telegram?

Choose the type under **Message Content** on the Send Telegram page. Media types need a **public https:// URL** that opens in a browser, because Telegram's servers fetch the file themselves.

| Type | What you provide | Best for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Text** | Message text | Announcements, answers, everyday chat |
| **Photo** | Media URL + optional caption | Product images, banners, screenshots |
| **Audio** | Media URL + optional caption | MP3 clips |
| **Document** | Media URL + optional caption | PDF, Word, Excel, ZIP files |
| **Video** | Media URL + optional caption | Demos, tutorials, promos |
| **Animation (GIF)** | Media URL + optional caption | Short animations |
| **Voice** | Media URL + optional caption | Voice-note style audio |
| **Video Note** | Media URL only | The round video-note bubble |
| **Location** | Latitude + longitude | Store address, event venue |
| **Contact** | Phone, first name, optional last name | Sharing a contact card |
| **Poll** | Question + 2 to 10 options, one per line | Quick votes and feedback |

## If media doesn't arrive

- Open the URL in a private browser window. If it needs a login or shows an error, Telegram can't fetch it either.
- It must be **https**, not http, and a direct file link rather than a page containing the file.
- Files behind a company intranet or a signed, expiring URL will fail.

Need the same media often? Save it in a **template** with its URL so you don't re-enter it each time.
