# Why was my image upload rejected?

Common reasons: file **larger than 300 KB**; **format not JPEG or PNG**; **server upload directory not writable** (contact support if you see a “directory not writable” message); or **invalid or corrupted image** (e.g. not a real image file). Resize or re-export as JPEG/PNG and try again.
