Customers&#8217; consent to receive messages from a business would be recorded centrally, and customers could view, change or withdraw it themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where it stands today<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>pilot<\/strong> started in December 2025 with 11 banks: SBI, PNB, Axis Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and Punjab &amp; Sind Bank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A limited number of their customers receive an SMS from short code <strong>127000<\/strong>. It links to a consent page where they can keep, change or revoke the consents recorded against their number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TRAI describes a nationwide rollout as coming later, but has not announced a date. In March 2026, TRAI also published a <em>draft<\/em> amendment proposing further consent changes, which is not yet final.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What this means for your business now<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are not one of the pilot banks, there is <strong>no new consent registration step<\/strong> to complete today. Continue following your current DLT template categories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you send <strong>Service Explicit<\/strong> messages, make sure consent is recorded as your DLT portal requires today. Messages without valid consent fail with <strong>CONSENT_FAILED<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get ready by keeping clear records of when and how each customer opted in (website form, app checkbox, store sign-up).
