Zoho CRM No-Code Messaging Integration: Send & Receive SMS, WhatsApp, Voice and RCS
Connect your Zoho CRM account once, pick modules such as Leads, Contacts, or Deals, map the mobile field, and automate messaging without Deluge, webhooks, or a Zoho Marketplace app. Turn on Send SMS, Send WhatsApp, Send Voice, or Send RCS when a new record is created. Delivery status and inbound replies are logged back as Notes on the matching Zoho record.

What is Zoho CRM No-Code Messaging?
Zoho CRM No-Code Messaging Integration connects your Zoho CRM org to your SMSGatewayCenter account so new CRM records and messaging stay in sync. Create a Lead or Contact, and a message can go out. A customer replies, and it lands back as a Note on the matching record. No code, no Marketplace install, no manual webhook wiring.
What Can You Automate, Per Module?
- ✅ Send SMS, WhatsApp, Voice Call, or RCS automatically when a new Zoho CRM record is created
- 🔗 Personalized messages using Zoho field placeholders such as
{First_Name}and{Company} - 📥 Log incoming SMS, WhatsApp, or RCS replies as Notes on the matching record (found by mobile number)
- 📊 Delivery status (SENT / DELIVERED / FAILED) posted back as a Note after each send
- ⚙️ One-time Zoho OAuth connect, then pick a module and map the mobile field
- 🔒 Fully secure, DLT, and TRAI-compliant for Indian businesses
Ideal for sales and support teams that live in Zoho CRM and want messaging without writing Deluge or building Flow workflows.
Automate SMS, WhatsApp, Voice, and RCS both ways from Zoho CRM using SMSGatewayCenter. Connect once, pick modules, and let messaging run.
All Channels You Can Enable Per Module
Mix outbound sends and inbound Note logging independently on Leads, Contacts, Deals, and other phone-enabled modules.
SMS
Send free-text or DLT templates on new records. Choose Sender ID, message type (Text/Unicode), and insert Zoho fields into the body.
Send approved WhatsApp templates. Map header, body, and button variables to Zoho module fields or fixed values.
Voice
Place a voice call when a new record is created and play an approved audio clip from your voice library.
RCS
Send approved RCS templates to the record's mobile number. Pair with inbound RCS Note logging for two-way context.
Why We Ask for Zoho CRM Access
In full transparency, here is what the Zoho connection needs and why.
Your Zoho identity
Used to show which Zoho account is connected on your Zoho CRM Integration page, and to let you disconnect it. We do not use this to log you into anything else.
Read connected modules
Needed to detect newly created records and read the mobile field you map. We only read the module(s) you explicitly connect, never other modules or objects on our own initiative.
Write Notes on records
Needed to post delivery status and inbound replies as Notes on the matching record. A contact only appears in Recent Activity after a message is actually sent.
Read our full Privacy Policy for how we handle data from this integration. You can disconnect Zoho at any time after removing module connections.
How It Works
Four Steps, No Code
1. Connect Zoho CRM
One-time OAuth from your SMSGatewayCenter dashboard. The panel shows Connected as your Zoho email once linked.
2. Connect a Module
Click + Connect a Module, pick Leads, Contacts, Deals, or another phone-enabled module, and choose the mobile field.
3. Turn On Channels
Enable Send SMS, WhatsApp, Voice, or RCS for outbound, and Log incoming SMS, WhatsApp, or RCS for inbound Notes.
4. It Runs Automatically
New records and inbound replies are picked up on a short polling cycle, about once a minute. Check Recent Activity to confirm.

Only new records trigger a send after you connect a module. Records that already existed before the connection will not fire. Importing or syncing new records into the module still counts as new for automation.

Step-by-Step: Connect Zoho CRM and Set Up Messaging
Follow these steps in order. Typical setup takes only a few minutes once Zoho OAuth is available on your account.
Step 1: Open Zoho CRM Integration
Login to your SMSGatewayCenter account. From the sidebar, open Integrations (or Connected Services) and choose Zoho CRM Integration.
You will see What is this?, Zoho Account, Module Connections, and Recent Activity. Expand What is this? any time for a short overview of outbound sending and inbound Note logging.

Step 2: Connect Your Zoho Account
Under Zoho Account, click Connect Zoho CRM if you are not linked yet. Complete the Zoho OAuth consent. When done, the panel shows Connected as your Zoho email, with a Disconnect option available after you remove every module connection.
This is a one-time step per account. Your reseller or platform admin must have Zoho CRM OAuth credentials configured before connect works.

Step 3: Click Connect a Module
Under Module Connections, click + Connect a Module. A dialog opens where you pick a Zoho module that has at least one phone-type field.
Common choices include Leads, Contacts, and Deals. Other eligible standard or custom modules appear in the same picker when they expose a mobile field.

Step 4: Pick the Module, Mobile Field, and SMS Settings
Select the Module (for example Leads), then choose the Mobile Number Field such as Mobile. This field is used for every outbound send and for matching inbound replies.
Turn on Send SMS on new record. Choose a Sender ID, optional saved or DLT template, message type, and write your text with Zoho field placeholders. Use Select a field to insert then + Insert, or type {Field_Api_Name} directly.

Step 5: Enable WhatsApp, Voice, RCS, and Inbound Notes
In the same dialog, enable any additional outbound channels:
- Send WhatsApp on new record: pick an approved template and map variables.
- Send voice call on new record: pick an approved audio clip.
- Send RCS on new record: pick a verified bot and RCS template.
For two-way context, enable:
- Log incoming SMS / WhatsApp / RCS: writes replies as Notes on the matching record.
Click Connect (or Save when editing). Create a test record in Zoho CRM and confirm the send under Recent Activity.

Connect Modules to Send and Receive Messages
Start with the modules your sales and support teams use most. Each connection has its own channel mix.
Leads
First-response SMS or WhatsApp the moment a Lead is created in Zoho CRM. Keep reply threads visible as Notes on the Lead.
Contacts
Service and relationship alerts when Contacts are created. Inbound SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS log back as Contact Notes.
Deals
Deal-stage outreach when a new Deal is created with a phone field. Delivery status posts back as a Note for your sales team.
Before You Begin
- An SMSGatewayCenter account with credits and Zoho CRM Integration enabled.
- A Zoho CRM account with permission to authorize the connection.
- For the channels you plan to send on, keep the relevant DLT/approval details ready:
- Sender ID / Entity ID for SMS, as per DLT.
- Approved WhatsApp template for WhatsApp sends.
- Library ID of an uploaded audio clip for Voice calls.
- Approved RCS template for RCS sends.
Good to Know
- Automations run on a short polling cycle, about once a minute, so a new record or reply may take up to a minute or two to show up.
- You can connect multiple modules, each with its own channel toggles.
- Delivery status and inbound replies are written as Notes on the matching Zoho record. No custom Zoho field setup is required.
- Delete every connected module before you can disconnect the Zoho account. Automations keep running until those connections are removed.
