The WhatsApp Message Sequencer, designed for the WhatsApp Business API, allows you to send messages sequentially to your recipients, either as business-initiated campaigns or user-initiated chatbot responses. Here’s how to set it up and use it on SMSGatewayCenter:
Prerequisites #
Before starting, ensure you’ve completed these steps:
- Option 1: Save and Approve Templates
Create and save all message templates you plan to use, and get them approved by Meta. - Option 2: Set Up Auto-Response Messages
If using a chatbot, save the auto-response messages you want to send in sequence.
Steps to Set Up the WhatsApp Message Sequencer #
- Access the WhatsApp Message Sequencer Section
- Log in to your SMSGatewayCenter account at https://unify.smsgateway.center/.
- Navigate to the WhatsApp Message Sequencer section under your WhatsApp Business API settings in the dashboard.
- Create a New Message Sequence
- Click the Add button to start creating a new message sequence.
- Provide an identifier for the sequence by adding a title or reminder (e.g., “Order Update Sequence”).
- Choose the Sequence Type
- Campaign: Select this to send a sequence of template-based messages initiated by your business.
- Chatbot: Select this to send a sequence of messages triggered by user interactions via quick reply buttons.
- Set Up the Sequence
- For Campaign Type:
- Choose the first approved template from the list of saved templates.
- To add more templates to the sequence, click Add Next Template Sequence, select the next template, and repeat for each additional template.
- For Chatbot Type:
- Add the auto-response messages you want your chatbot to send in sequence.
- For Campaign Type:
- Save and Manage the Sequence
- Click Save Changes to save your message sequence.
- Go to the Manage WhatsApp Message Sequencer section in your dashboard.
- Click Copy UUID to copy the unique identifier for your sequence.
- Trigger the Sequence
- When sending template messages (for campaigns) or setting up quick reply buttons (for chatbots), paste the copied UUID into the Postback ID field.
- For campaigns, the sequence will start when the campaign is launched. For chatbots, the sequence will trigger when a recipient clicks a quick reply button, sending messages one after the other in the defined order.
Important Note #
If you manage multiple WhatsApp Business API numbers under different Facebook Business Managers, avoid using template-based sequences. Differences in Meta’s API keys may prevent message delivery.
