SMSGatewayCenter simplifies sending WhatsApp messages by providing an easy-to-use HTML form interface on the UI, which converts your inputs into the JSON format required by the WhatsApp Business API. Below is an overview of the available message types, their specifications, and how to use them:
Available Message Types and How to Use Them #
Normal Text
- Description: Send a simple plain text message.
- How to Use: Enter your message in the text field and submit.
- Example: “Thank you for your order!”
Normal Text – Preview
- Description: Send a plain text message with a URL that displays a preview (e.g., website thumbnail).
- How to Use: Enter your message with a URL, and the system will automatically generate a preview for the user.
- Example: “Check out our latest offers at [yourwebsite.com]!”
Media – Audio (Link or ID)
- Description: Send an audio message. Supported formats: AAC, AMR, MP4, OPUS (up to 16MB).
- Link: Provide an external URL for the audio file.
- ID: Select an audio file from your Media Library using the dropdown.
- How to Use: Choose the method (Link or ID), input the URL or select the file, and submit.
Media – Document (Link or ID)
- Description: Send a document file. Supported formats: PDF, DOC(X), PPT(X), XLS(X) (up to 100MB).
- Link: Provide an external URL for the document.
- ID: Select a document from your Media Library using the dropdown.
- Fields:
- Document Name: Name the document (up to 240 characters; WhatsApp assigns a name if left blank).
- Document Caption: Add a brief caption (optional).
- How to Use: Choose the method, input the URL or select the file, add a name and caption if needed, and submit.
Media – Image (Link or ID)
- Description: Send an image message. Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG (up to 5MB).
- Link: Provide an external URL for the image.
- ID: Select an image from your Media Library using the dropdown.
- Fields:
- Image Caption: Add a caption (up to 3000 characters, optional).
- How to Use: Choose the method, input the URL or select the image, add a caption if desired, and submit.
Media – Video (Link or ID)
- Description: Send a video message. Supported formats: MP4, 3GPP (up to 16MB).
- Link: Provide an external URL for the video.
- ID: Select a video from your Media Library using the dropdown.
- Fields:
- Video Caption: Add a caption (up to 3000 characters, optional).
- How to Use: Choose the method, input the URL or select the video, add a caption if desired, and submit.
Location
- Description: Send a static location as an interactive map.
- Fields:
- Longitude: Enter coordinates between -180 and 180.
- Latitude: Enter coordinates between -90 and 90.
- Business Name: Add the location’s name (optional).
- Address: Add the location’s address (optional).
- How to Use: Fill in the required longitude and latitude, add the business name and address if applicable, and submit.
Sticker (Link)
- Description: Send a sticker message. Requirements: WEBP format, up to 100KB, 512x512px, 16px margin, transparent background (animated stickers not supported).
- Link: Provide an external URL for the sticker.
- How to Use: Input the sticker URL and submit.
Interactive – Message with Buttons
- Description: Send a text message with up to 3 quick reply buttons.
- Fields:
- Header: Add a brief header (up to 20 characters, optional).
- Message Body: Enter the main message (up to 1024 characters).
- Footer: Add a footer (up to 60 characters, optional).
- Reply Buttons: Add up to 3 buttons by clicking Add. For each button:
- Postback ID: Set a keyword to trigger a response when clicked (must match a keyword in your Conversation settings).
- Reply Button Title: Name the button (up to 20 characters).
- How to Use: Fill in the fields, add buttons with postback IDs and titles, and submit.
Interactive – Image/Video/Document with Buttons (Link)
- Description: Send a message with an image, video, or document as the header, along with up to 3 quick reply buttons.
- Fields:
- URL Link: Provide an external URL for the image (JPG/JPEG/PNG, up to 5MB), video (MP4/3GPP, up to 16MB), or document (PDF/DOC(X)/PPT(X)/XLS(X), up to 100MB).
- Message Body: Enter the main message (up to 1024 characters).
- Footer: Add a footer (up to 60 characters, optional).
- Reply Buttons: Add up to 3 buttons by clicking Add. For each button:
- Postback ID: Set a keyword to trigger a response when clicked.
- Reply Button Title: Name the button (up to 20 characters).
- How to Use: Choose the media type, input the URL, fill in the message body and footer, add buttons, and submit.
Talk to Agent
- Description: Allow users to request a live agent instead of interacting with a chatbot.
- Fields:
- Message Body: Enter a message to inform the user (up to 1024 characters, e.g., “We are transferring you to a live agent, please be patient.”).
- How to Use: Set keywords in your settings to detect when a user wants to speak to an agent, enter the message body, and submit. The system will send this message as the last bot response before transferring to an agent.
Important Note #
These message types are available only on the SMSGatewayCenter UI for ease of use. When using the WhatsApp Business API directly, you must send messages in JSON format, which our system handles automatically when you use the UI forms.
