Bot Message Type #
The message type is your bot’s use case. Your templates must match it, so choose the type that fits the messages you will send.
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| OTP | One-time passwords and two-factor authentication codes for logins and verification. |
| Transactional | Service messages customers expect, such as order confirmations, delivery updates, account alerts and reminders. |
| Promotional | Sales, marketing and promotional messages to new or existing customers: offers, discounts, upgrades, and follow-ups such as an abandoned-cart reminder. Promotional bots cannot send OTPs, 2FA codes, or time-sensitive product, service or transaction information. |
| Multi-Use | A mix of transactional and promotional messages from one bot. This option may not be available for bots in the India region. |
If you need several use cases, for example OTPs and promotions, register a separate bot for each.
Bot Billing Category #
- Conversational: for bots that hold two-way conversations, where customers reply or tap buttons and you respond.
- Non-Conversational: for bots that mainly send one-way messages such as alerts and notifications.
The billing category affects how RCS traffic on the bot is charged. Check Check RCS Rate Plan in your profile, or ask support, if you’re unsure which fits your use case.
