The system automatically handles duplicates to prevent sending the same message multiple times.
Automatic Duplicate Handling:
When you select multiple groups for a campaign:
- System collects all contacts from selected groups
- Identifies duplicate mobile numbers
- Removes duplicates (keeps only one entry per number)
- Sends one message per unique number
Example:
Group A: Premium Customers
- John: 9876543210
- Sarah: 9876543211
Group B: Newsletter Subscribers
- John: 9876543210 (duplicate)
- Mike: 9876543212
Result:
- Only 3 messages sent: John, Sarah, Mike
- John receives only ONE message (not two)
- Credits charged for 3 messages only
Personalization with Duplicates:
If using {{NAME}} placeholder:
- System uses the first occurrence found
- If John appears in both groups, uses name from first group processed
- Recommendation: Keep contact information consistent across groups
Additional Duplicate Filtering:
There’s also a “Filter Duplicates” setting:
- Enabled by default
- Removes duplicates within batch numbers
- Works alongside automatic group deduplication
Best Practices:
- Don’t worry about duplicates – System handles it automatically
- Verify contact names – Ensure names are consistent across groups
- Check reports – Total recipients count shows final deduplicated count
- Keep groups organized – Though duplicates are handled, clean data is better
